Fully equipped laboratories have been set up at all plants to carry out various tests on concrete and on constituent raw materials. Concrete mixes of various grades are designed in a laboratory as per established procedures to comply with Standard Specification. To check the quality of concrete, tests are performed in several ways:
Test of Fresh Concrete: Sump Test- Slump is tested immediately after the production and at the time of pouring.
Test of Hard Concrete : Compressive strength (Durability Test) – Scientifically designed concrete cylinder is tested in a laboratory to ensure better durability of the structures.
The concrete is cured in cylinder for 28 days and then a batch is sent to BUET’s authorized lab where the rate of stiffening is measured. The test result is very important for the acceptance of on-site concrete work since it demonstrates the strength of the mix-design.
Sample Test Report: Shah Cement RMC acquires about 45%-50% of strength in 3 days, and 75%-80% in 7 days and about 95% in 28days , which is of the highest quality
